Shivam Sharma

Shivam Sharma grew up in Haryana in an army household and earned a B.Tech degree from Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology in Delhi, where he also gave a job interview at Google, was rejected, and concluded the universe had other plans. He briefly directed content for fellow creators Hunny Sharma and Harsh Beniwal before launching his own YouTube channel in 2017 under the name Swagger Sharma. His first video, “News Reporter SHAMBhu,” did not set the internet on fire, but the series Meri IIT Wali GF became his first genuine viral moment, capturing the tension between academic pressure and romantic aspiration with a precision millions of Indian young people immediately recognized.
From there, the channel evolved steadily into longer, more cinematic storytelling. He writes, directs, acts in, and edits his work, building a tight-knit creative team that treats YouTube like a film set. Lucky Guy (2023), Trust Issues (2023), and Sharma Ji Ki Shaadi (2024–2025) each raised the bar higher, blending comedy with drama and suspense in ways that consistently surprised his audience. In 2025, he was featured on THRIndia’s Creator A-List, recognition from The Hollywood Reporter India placing him among the most significant digital voices in the country. The engineer who didn’t get the Google job is now, rather satisfyingly, making money from Google AdSense.
