Vir Das

Vir Das does not need an introduction, and yet somehow his story keeps getting more impressive with every passing year. He is India’s most globally recognised comedian, a Bollywood actor, world-class stand-up, and a wit so sharp it could cut glass, and his Twitter presence is very much an extension of that. His tweets carry the same observational intelligence that has made him beloved on stage and screen alike. He first became famous in India through films like Go Goa Gone, Delhi Belly, and Badmash Company, before making his international mark with the Netflix special Abroad Understanding. In 2023, he became the first Indian comedian to win an International Emmy Award for Best Comedy Series, taking home the honour for his Netflix special Vir Das: Landing, and the following year, he hosted the International Emmy Awards ceremony itself. His latest Netflix special, Fool Volume, released in 2025, was shot across three continents, New York, London, and Delhi, and showcased his ability to weave personal storytelling, sharp political observation, and laugh-out-loud comedy into something that feels wholly cinematic. He also returned to Bollywood in the long-awaited Go Goa Gone 2 in 2025. On X, he remains exactly who he is everywhere else, astute, funny, and impossible to ignore.
