Sourab Pant

One of India’s earliest and most consistently funny stand-up comedians, Sorabh Pant has been in the game long enough to have earned his reputation multiple times over. He cut his teeth working alongside Vir Das before co-founding East India Comedy, a troupe that helped shape the Indian stand-up circuit as it exists today, performing at clubs across the country and internationally. His comedy territory, politics, cricket, entertainment, and the thoroughly ridiculous aspects of everyday Indian life, gives him virtually unlimited material, and he uses it well. A satirist at heart, his ability to take a sharp swing at power without losing the fun is something his audience genuinely loves him for. His Twitter Spaces are where he often gets into the real-time banter and topical commentary that his followers show up for, and his panel performances on shows like Engineering Colleges: Stupid WhatsApp Rules and Uncles continue to surface and get shared long after their original air dates. If you have not followed him already, now is a good time to fix that.
