Sachin Bansal is one of the pioneers of India’s modern startup ecosystem and is best known as the co-founder of Flipkart, the company that transformed online shopping in India. Starting from a small apartment in Bengaluru in 2007, Sachin and Binny Bansal built Flipkart into one of India’s largest e-commerce companies, redefining consumer behavior and digital commerce across the country.
Initially launched as an online bookstore, Flipkart rapidly expanded into electronics, fashion, appliances, and lifestyle categories, eventually competing with some of the biggest global e-commerce players. Under Sachin’s leadership, Flipkart introduced several innovations tailored specifically for Indian consumers, including cash-on-delivery, easy returns, and large-scale logistics solutions.
One of the biggest milestones of his career came in 2018 when Walmart acquired a majority stake in Flipkart in one of the largest e-commerce deals globally. Following his exit, Sachin shifted focus toward fintech and financial inclusion through Navi Technologies, aiming to simplify lending, insurance, and digital financial services for Indian consumers.
