Anubhav Singh Bassi

Anubhav Singh Bassi is what happens when a lawyer, a UPSC aspirant, a restaurant entrepreneur, and a master storyteller are somehow the same person. Born in Meerut, he studied law at the National Law University in Delhi before pivoting to stand-up comedy, stepping onto his first open mic in 2017. His comedy is built entirely on anecdotes, he is not a punchline-every-ten-seconds comedian. He takes his time, builds his characters and settings with care, layers in act-outs and asides, and lands the punchline somewhere you genuinely did not see coming. His shows Hostel, Waxing, Roommate, and Cheating accumulated hundreds of millions of YouTube views and built him a cult following that operates largely through word of mouth, since Bassi himself maintains a notably light social media presence for someone of his reach.
His tour Bas Kar Bassi travelled more than 35 Indian cities. He delivered a TED Talk about his struggles, appeared on Amazon Funnies, and was awarded Youth Icon of the Year at the Golden Glory Awards. In July 2023, he launched Kisi Ko Batana Mat, which has since toured India, the United States, Canada, and Australia through 2024 and into 2025. There is something fitting about Bassi’s momentum being quiet and consistent, just like his comedy.
